Tom trained Brown Panther to win the Irish St. Leger (Group 1) in 2014, beating Leading Light in second. This was a race that the horse has previously placed in, in addition to his second placed finish in the Doncaster edition of the race as a three-year-old. Following this win at the Curragh, Brown Panther went on to win the Dubai Gold Cup in Meydan under Richard Kingscote, who partnered the horse on all but one of his wins.

Brown Panther won a total of 11 times and placed on a further 8 occasions. In this time, he accumulated more than £750,000 worth of prize money.
